Overview
AppVentory integrates with Okta to sync user data, providing insights into user access and authentication activities. This integration allows organizations to monitor user status, and application usage within Okta. The AppVentory application will be listed as "AppVentory" on the Okta marketplace.

- Syncs user lists and statuses from Okta (Active, Suspended, etc.).

Connect Okta to AppVentory
Step 1 - Install AppVentory App on Okta Admin Console
- Log in to the Okta Admin Console.
- In the left menu, navigate to API Service Integrations and click Add Integration, or search for 'AppVentory' directly in the Okta Integration Network.
- Search for "AppVentory" in the Okta marketplace.
- Select the AppVentory app.
- Click "Install and Authorize."
This will direct you to an authorization page. - You will get the Client Secret, which will be visible only once—so save it securely. After copying it, the Client ID and Okta Domain will remain visible and can be copied.
Step 2 - Connect AppVentory to Okta
- Navigate to the Integrations page in AppVentory.
- Locate the Okta tile and click Connect.
- Enter the following details copied from Okta:
- Authorize AppVentory.
- Enter the Client ID and Okta Domain in their respective fields.
- Paste the Client Secret in the Client Secret field
- Click Continue.
- Click the 'Connect' button to proceed.
- Once connected, a green checkmark will confirm successful integration.
Usage
After connecting Okta to AppVentory
- AppVentory will sync all available data.
- AppVentory will detect and report status changes of users.
Events Monitored by AppVentory
- User deletion: If a user is deleted from Okta, AppVentory records the event.
- User deactivation: If a user’s status changes to Deprovisioned, the update reflects in AppVentory.
